Moving from Bud to Blossom

Rose bud in my backyard.
Isn't this huge rose bud a beauty? Well no, it is not a beauty just yet. But the beauty is coming. Once it relaxes and opens up, we will all get to enjoy the yellow blossom and the amazing aroma of a rose.

I've been a lot like this rose bud recently. Closed up and tight and not too pretty. Maybe by the time this yellow rose opens up, we will both be more relaxed and beautiful!

I will be taking pics of it as it moves from bud to blossom.

  1. I know you don't know this but I have at least three feet of snow sitting in my yard and flowers are just a few long months away here. I didn't believe it when I saw your picture but then reminded myself..."Oh yeah, she lives WAY down south, darnnit!" Sweet torture.

  2. We cannot always see the beauty within us that has not yet unfolded. It's hard to wait for it. I know the rose will be beautiful when it emerges and so will you (and you are now). Blessings!

  3. Thinking about spring up here in the NW, too. And I know what you mean about feeling closed in. Does it come with the season? Whatever the source, I pray you're feeling expectant about what brilliant color will bloom from you.

  5. Hmmm so.. thinking about this concept wondering what makes you feel closed up and how you envision yourself as "opened". Not to drag this visual through the mud, but I truly think there are seasons in life when we are more closed, contemplative, looking within, feeling gun-shy with life and others where we blossom and radiate. Wondering where you're at and why.
