Will the Pasta Stick to the Wall?

I love asking God for a today message for people and for myself. It is scary because I make myself vulnerable and just throw it out there and hope it sticks to the wall. Like cooks who throw the pasta at the wall and if it sticks they know it is ready to serve. Sounds like a pretty gross and messy kitchen wall when you think about it huh?

I was recently graced with an invitation to contribute a post to the beautiful faith website 5 Minutes For Faith and I had no clue what to send in to the editor. So I sat in my backyard swing (seems to be an inspirational spot for me) and asked God what He wanted to say to the reader on the actual day they read the website.

And then I argued with His answer. Yep I did. I can be one of his most bratty kids sometimes. I argued with the simplicity of the message He gave me to pass on to the readers. But I guess a simple (but sometimes obedient) woman is the perfect one to deliver a simple truth to the people God loves so much.

Please hop on over to 5 Minutes for Faith right now because my piece went live at 9pm PST. Yay! Thank you my friends!

  2. Interesting...Just read it. It's right in line with a post I wrote last night. So I say interesting, because that's God for you. Speaking in us what He wants us to speak, even states apart. Love it!

  3. So cool!!! I loved both posts...this one and that one. And I like the pasta sticking on the wall thing...never did that before...what a thought! My mother never taught me that trick! I love how God teaches us important truths in the simplest of lessons. We just need to have eyes to see and ears to hear, and a heart to want to learn and grow. That's what this is all about. Thank you.

  5. Lovely post. I think we argue with the higher powers because we need to. We need to keep them answerable to us and in doing so proving their right to our faith.
A good teacher is never scared of being held accountable, of being asked the hard questions. God is like that I believe; forever challenging us to keep faith while we are forever question why we should.
    Beautiful Susie, as usual.

    1. It was a wonderful lesson years ago when i realized that God is not afraid of my/our hard questions. It felt like true love, because the truth is not afraid of close scrutiny. And when a church or organization shuts down the ability to ask questions, that is the danger area and a bright red flag!
I love your big and open heart Lisa. Your comments always mean so much to me because I know you are not afraid to ask the hard questions and work things out for yourself.
      Thanks for reading.
